In 2003, a Data Quality Audit tool was developed for the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) to verify reported immunization coverage data and to build capacity to improve monitoring and reporting activities.  In addition, a Data Quality Assessment (DQA) tool was developed as a standard method to verify reported data and assess data management and reporting systems for tuberculosis, malaria, and HIV/AIDS programs.

The Tool for Integrated Planning and Costing, or TIPAC (pronounced “tee-pack”), is a Microsoft Excel– based program that helps users accurately estimate the costs and funding gaps of public health programs. The NTD TIPAC can be used in conjunction with existing national NTD strategic plans and budgets in order to effectively plan and coordinate future program resources. The TIPAC is not a substitute for the strategic process of developing a national plan of action or program budget.

Overview Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) are critical in the prevention and care for all of the 17 neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) scheduled for intensified control or elimination by 2020. Provision of safe water, sanitation and hygiene is one of the five key interventions within the global NTD roadmap. Yet to date, the WASH component of the strategy has received little attention and the potential to link efforts on WASH and NTDs has been largely untapped.
