Indonesia has one of the highest burden of NTDs globally — more than 255 million people are at risk for at least one NTD. Indonesia’s national NTD program has set ambitious goals, aiming to eliminate LF and SCH, while also controlling STH by 2020.

Since 2011, ENVISION has provided assistance to the Indonesia NTD program, supporting district-level treatment campaigns across 22 provinces. As Indonesia moves towards elimination, ENVISION is helping the MOH to strengthen district and regional capacity to assess the burden of disease and integrate surveillance into the national health system.

In INDONESIA, ENVISION has supported the MOH to

Map 161 health districts for LF, representing more than 30% of the country

Treat more than 16 million people for LF and STH across 50 districts

Train over 96,000 government officials, teachers, health workers, and community drug distributors on skills needed to effectively carry out mass treatment campaigns

Assess the impact of the LF program through 12 district-level surveys

Strengthen Indonesia’s health system by assisting the MOH to implement an integrated NTD database, compiling data for all diseases into one centralized repository for better data management and use
